European Commission Statement Brussels, 28 Jun 2024 The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, participated in the press conference that followed the European Council meeting of 27 June, where she delivered the following opening remarks.
During the press conference held at the end of the European Council of 27 June 2024, President Charles Michel presented the main results of the meeting: appointments for EU's top jobs, Strategic Agenda 2024-2029, Ukraine, Middle East, Security and Defence, Competitiveness among others.
On 27 June, the European Council adopted conclusions on Ukraine, the Middle East, security and defence, competitiveness, other items, the next institutional cycle and a roadmap for future work on internal reforms.
