Greek startups and SMEs in life sciences, healthcare and sustainability will gain better access to investment finance under a new equity agreement managed by the EIF arm of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Group. Under the accord, the EIF has been entrusted to manage €200 million of EU Cohesion Policy Funds and national resources that will provide equity financing for risk finance investments in the country.

The European Investment Bank (EIB) and MicroBank have signed a €100 million loan that will facilitate access to finance for Spanish microenterprises and self-employed individuals looking to launch or expand their businesses. With the loan signed with the EIB, which is guaranteed by CaixaBank, MicroBank will make a total of €200 million in microloans available to this business segment thanks to its additional contribution of €100 million.

On the occasion of its 30th anniversary and ahead of the next mandate, the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) and the European Parliament (EP) seek to reinforce their institutional partnership through the signature of a revised bilateral agreement.

Participants from 30 European countries, EU Member States and beyond, gathered in Šibenik, Croatia, on 14 May, calling for increased funding and a stronger role for territorial cooperation in the future, especially in view of a possible enlargement of the Union.
