One of the biggest Cohesion Policy-funded projects, the Brăila bridge in Romania, has opened. It will connect the Black Sea ports and the Danube Delta with the rest of the country and the Trans-European Transport Network. The EU's contribution is €363 million from Cohesion Policy funds.

The Commission has proposed rules to make producers responsible for the full lifecycle of textile products and to support the sustainable management of textile waste across the EU. This initiative will accelerate the development of the separate collection, sorting, reuse and recycling of textiles.

The Commission has proposed to reinforce its long-term budget to help the EU tackle recent unexpected challenges. The budget revision proposes an increase in spending to provide stable financial support to Ukraine, to finance action on migration, and to support investments in strategic industries.

Environment ministers have agreed on a proposal for a nature restoration law. It contains recovery measures that will cover at least 20% of the EU’s land and 20% sea areas by 2030, and all ecosystems in need of restoration by 2050. This now needs to be negotiated with the European Parliament.
