The Council extended the mandate of the EU Advisory Mission for Civilian Security Sector Reform (EUAM) in Ukraine until 31 May 2027.
The Council adopted an implementing decision giving a positive assessment to the ‘Ukraine Plan’, thereby paving the way for the disbursement of regular payments under the Ukraine Facility, subject to the implementation of the agreed reform and investments.
The Council prolonged the mandate of the EU Training Mission in Mozambique, until 30 June 2026, and decided to change its strategic objectives, and rename it as EU Military Assistance Mission - EUMAM Mozambique – as of 1 September 2024.
The Council broadened the scope of the EU framework for restrictive measures in view of Iran’s military support of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, so as to cover both drones and missiles, as well as the Iranian drone and missile programme’s support for armed groups and entities in the Middle-East and the Red Sea region.
