The European Commission and consumer protection authorities have released the results of a screening of online discounts during Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. Some discounts were misleading and did not comply with EU consumer law.
New rules will help better protect taxpayers and depositors by broadening the scope of banks covered by the EU’s laws on bank failure. They also empower authorities to manage potential bank failures more effectively and harmonise depositor protection across the EU.
