The EU is offering DiscoverEU travel passes to 18-year-olds to explore Europe by train. Applications are open until 22 April 2026. You can travel anytime between 1 July 2026 and 30 September 2027 for up to 7 days within a one-month period.
The 2025 fire season was the worst on record for the European Union. Satellite-based analysis from the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre show that more than 1 million hectares – equivalent to approximately the area of Cyprus – were ravaged by fire across several EU countries.
New rules will help better protect taxpayers and depositors by broadening the scope of banks covered by the EU’s laws on bank failure. They also empower authorities to manage potential bank failures more effectively and harmonise depositor protection across the EU.
